Don't turn this into a PS3 VS 360 flame war or everyone is bound to get banned.
For me a console is for ONE thing, gaming. That's it. I could care less if it plays DVD or makes me toast in the morning. All i want is to have it play games and have a good game line up.

That's what's nice about the 360... you can game AND cook with it :)
Naw, but really, I feel the same. I want a console for gaming... period. I purchased the 360 before the PS3 was released, so there's no reason yet for me to get one. The quality in graphics doesn't justify needing to purchase a PS3. So the only reason (in my opinion) to get a PS3 would be exclusives. But right now, there's only a couple I'd want.
I do want a PS3, I just don't need it. I had bought a console at launch, but returned it 3 weeks later (eBay was flooded by then to sell it for a profit). And I'm glad I did. It would have collected dust for quite awhile. But lately, I've been on the lookout for a used 20 or 60 gig. If I can find one for a decent price, I'll grab it.

Yup i agree, im waiting for Elites to have the falcon then im going to get another 360 as they are not avaible in the UK yet as there is no way im missing out on GOW2, and Banjo3 . The PS3 is great for hd films and the exclusives such as MGS4, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, GT5 etc and that new game 'Lingerinshadows' looks awesome :-O
Alot of my friends have live too so having a 360 for GTAIV (will get both versions) will be good to pawn my friends.
BTW- Bhetrick nows the time to get a PS3 :)

Haha na man I was PS2 fanboy back in the day and the PS3 is a nice little system just needs a few good games. No war =) Its all about games brother thats all that matters to me

I own a PS3 I won it in a arcade. I just dont have a singel game for it. It just sits there. But all that will change with MGS and GT

I was ready to get a used one, but then the past couple of weeks there been the rumors of another PS3 price cut coming up. So if the new consoles get cheaper, then the used ones should drop also.

I had a launce 360 Premium - what killed it? A Niko Intercooler (fried the electrical circuit to the HDD as it sucked power).
Replaced with an Elite as I work within a games store so I was able to 'cheat the system'. No problems, no overheating, no noise, no red-rings nothing (but this could change.)
I've have 5, count them, 5 PS3s and I'm on my 6th now - thankfully they were all replaced free of charge (#3 on wards was replaced and with a free game of my choice due to the hassel).
So, it's pot luck, just like a PC, some components fail, others will last a life time.

I doubt a price cut will happen as its still a new system and has yet to show its full potential and release its big sequels. It on N4g somewhere 10 reasons it wont happen plus Playstation Home will also encourage sales.
Sony have been making profits for quite a while now ever since they cut the 60gbs
At the guy with 5 consoles, unlucky dude.

Well guys,
I just ended up buying the 360 in the end. I just bought it, a used one at a great price. Its a pro console with 20GB HDD at only $150. So couldnt refuse the offer atleast if it messes up I won't be worrying about the amount I spent on it.
I know you're good but I am better.

Nice of you to post a link to your fan mod...again, but i hope you know that your title "get rid of RROD forever" is completely false. The fan is not the only hardware failure that happens to the 360. In fact it is not even the most common, The X-Clamp is.
PS- you also know that they already make aftermarket fans (Talismoon), right?

board, just about anything can go wrong, the original ventilation of the 360 was a split between keeping it quite and cool, not such a good mix though huh!
