i have heard that custom firmware can "brick" your PSP.
is this true?

This isn't the right thread to post this. Please make a new thread at the mod and firmware section if you have more questions.
Custom Firmwares can brick your PSP. But, you can use the Pandora to unbrick the PSP and get a custom firmware.

Thank You :)

Read this in my FAQ section
Quote:
Q: Do I need to convert the Rom or such?
A: When you download a rom they should either be in a .zip or .smc file. Snes9xTYL can run both of them. No need to convert.
Just put the zip (that contain the smc) or the file .smc inside the ROM folder

It should have saved like it supposed to ... however, if that doesn't work you can the save slot option. Click Trinagle while playing. Then click save slot. Select a slot you wish to save. To load go back to the menu and click load slot.

I have a smart question:
If you have a Save file on your computer that you want to put it on your PSP, can you?

Hi. I am trying to follow your instructions to install the GBA emulator, but no luck. I keep getting an error saying that I need to find a bios.
Now I've tried about 3 or 4 different gba bios, but each gave me the same error. I have followed your guide with renaming the file "gba_bios.bin" and moving it on the gpSP folder on the GAME folder, even tried it on different folders like GAME150 and GAME380 as well, but I get the same result.
I've also tried other GBA emulators but they give me an error saying that the game could not be started.
I have a Slim PSP with 3.90 M33-3
Any help would be appreciated, thanks for you time.

Sorry, but the bios isn't the correct one. You have to get a proper one. The gpSP folder should be put in the GAME at all times.
Does your PC show the full extension of files ? If not or you are not sure try renaming the bios with this "gba_bios".

Thank you for your help. I tried downloading a new copy of the bios and instead of renaming it "gba_bios.bin" I just left it as it was, "gba_bios" and placed it in the gpSP folder. It now works. Many thanks for the tutorial as well! :-)

This is an awesome guide MrGooey. It worked first time. I think you should do one on how to play nintendo 64 games on your PSP.
