Hey guys, sorry for the long wait you had. When installing the card, you should get an option to turn off the Raid drivers.I dont know what raid has to do with an x360 drive but just turn it off.2nd choice-If you dont get the option in the driver installation, then just goto ur BIOs menu and turn off RAID from their.IT never shows it in the video tut but in Textbooks flashing guide,it says to turn it off.And why dont you just update to FWtoolbox 4.6?I forgot what RAID was I have to go read about it somewhere.lol.And man you are good to go with the v78.Hope this helped

I dont think it always says spinning up disk, have you tried pressing eject twice to see if it is in B mode already?

Maybe. Look on Ebay. I got my Via 6421 sata card for £6. What a bargain that was. Flashed my xbox with it no problems at all. Now i use it for my Dual layer writer...

I managed to flash my V0078k Drive now! I thought it might have been the SATA card and it WAS! i ended up using my internal sata sockets and it worked fine!

I had the slax 2.1 one problem.. in the end, it was because i was using a VISTA machine! for some reason it didn't like it!

You can turn RAID off from your BIOS.You have to press the written key in the boot screen when it says it when ur pc boots up to get to ur bios. Then go about flashing your drive.Okay other people. This topic is only for the person who started it.Dont ask your questions in another persons topic. You can always open a new thread.Just the forum rules. So if you have a question and didnt start this topic, please start your own thread. Also, the VISTA user.IT WILL work with VISTA.You gotta be an administrator to do it.For the best performance.Use XP to flash. It just saves time.

I didnt have to turn off any raid function, dont know if it did it automatically.I also used the VIA6421 sata card, using toolbox v3 will put 1.6ixtreme on your console

Some of the 6421 cards dont have RAID options.Did it say NONRAID or something when you bought it?THeres a vid you should watch.HElps alot. http://www.360mods.net/News/article/sid=87.html

I have to go somewhere right now and cant explain the whole process.Just watch the video and do what he does to get it in mode be.You have to put an xbox game or movie in the tray and go for mode B.Ill catch on later after I come back. For now use the video guide.Sorry, for the inconvienience.

Hi Everyone,
I posted a thread here once but no one replied.I hope I can ask my question here, since I have one of 0078FK drives too.
I can get the 0078FK Hitachi drive in modeb with Slax 2 or 2.1( tried both)but it's not recognized in Windows when I reboot the computer.
I tried it on two different computers but I always have this problem.I followed the tutorial "Hacking 360 for Dummies", wached the tutorial video, googled for solutions-nothing helps.
I bought via 6421L card from here:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815124022.
I updated the drivers, tried to disable Raid, but there is no option to do so in my BIOS. I hit the dead end.
Any advice is apreciated.

winny1314: I also had the exact same problem, I was trying 2 figure it out 4 hours until i realize there was more than 1 SATA slot on the pci card. If yours have more than 1 slot try putting it in the 1 facing closest 2 the front of your pc. It worked immediately i did that. Tried a few burn games and they work perfectly. Hope that helps u or someone else since i signed up on this site only 2 tell u guys that.

The method that homemade8 said is good to to too.I had forgotten to mention that.So hows progress? And people stop asking ur own questions on another persons thread.Open one for yourself. This hasnt been solved yet and people are jumping in for their own problems. This is winnys topic. If it gets solved and the info doesnt solve ur problem, open a new thread.Im sure people will reply to it.

Maby you should read a tutorial?? do you even know how to open your computer let alone the xbox 360?? an internal sata port is a sata port on your motherboard. and you turn the raid option off through your bios setting

I'm having a similar problem.
Tried to flash my friend's 79FL drive and windows becomes really sluggish. Sometimes it won't even recognize that there is an audio disc in the drive. Even when I play it in WMP it doesn't really want to play it.

I finally had play the track and unlocked the drive with the 79 unlock tool. It was successful, but as soon as I open Toolbox 4.8 and click on Tools -> Raw Dump, Toolbox 4.8 is not responding. I tried at least 10 times.

I've used the same computer with the same VIA 6421 Sata card and drivers to flash my Hitachi 79 drive and it worked the first time. So, windows wasn't sluggish at all and I had no problems playing the track or anything.

Why does it all freeze up on my friend's 79 drive?

Thank You

instead of flashing can you just change circuit boards on the 360 drive
