@dublin07,
where u trying to post something on last post. Cuz i see a blank spot on the post. U may want to edit that.
Once u have 4.01 M33, u can get the 1.50 addon. It lets ur psp to have a 1.5 kernal. That means it lets u play homebrew that require 1.50 kernal. It can only be installed on slim. Most newer homebrew already have 3.XX kernal, meanin u can play it without the addon

Yes, u can install 4.01 M33 and the 1.50 kernal on your fat psp.
From the readme on the pspstate. It says it needs alot of ram usage. That means it is goin only to work on the slim

just a quick question here, i have upgraded to dark alex's latest update (4.01-2)
I've been converting videos using VisualHub using a mac, but i find i have to tick the "convert for all psp's" option as opposed to the "PSP firmware 3.3+" to get them to play back on my psp
it doesnt matter too much as i can get vids to play, but im just curious. i presume the fw3.3+ have better playback capabilities.
Is it normal to have to convert mp4s this way, or can i change some settings somewhere in recovery menu to make it work.
is it cause its still technically running fw 1.5?
apologies if this is a noob type question - im usually pretty good at stuff like this!
Also i cant get my old 'media player' program to work that allowed playback of avi files...

You'll have to update to 3.71-4 first then wherever you want from there.
