I too bought a 100 pack spindle of Memorex 4X DVDR's. Coaster after coaster after coaster after coaster! DVDinfoPro id's these disks as CMC MAG AF1. I bought the 25 pack in past five different times and never made even one coaster recording at 2X or 4X. The 100 pack spindle has a blue jacket with white letters showing: MEMOREX PRINTABLE DVD-R 100 PK. Save yourself money and LOTS OF GRIEF. No matter what the price, stay away from this 100 pack of garbage. Recording at 2X or 1X makes no difference.These DVD's just plain don't work! I bought these DVD's from an online retailer and used about 15 disc before being certain the discs are defective. To the best of my knowedge, it is impossible to return open oacks of DVD's. Anyone know otherwise? From what I have read in this post, Memorex is ignoring the whole problem which is obviously HUGE! $100 US DOLLARS of my money (along with any future memorex dvd purchases) are flushed down the toilet. Use "PHILIPS 041" discs and you will get a perfect copy every time!
You should at least be able to return any unused media for a full refund, even if it has been opened (that seems to be typical in the UK). I got 49 refunded out of 50 since I had 1 coaster. I originally thought this was just another incompatibility issue, but it is now becoming clear that these disks are defective. Hence I should have got a full refund including postage.
