True, never though about that, then why the heck don't they try something diff. to foil modders?

@Poggie
yea, sure ir is a bonus but everyone is going to have different favorites and the bonus to psp 3000's bright lcd screen and scanline features will be overlooked once they make a Hen, Eloader or downgrader with the new gripshift exploit btw...
@Kafluke
the datel battery was a pre-mature idea it did make psp 3000's led blink as if it was in safe mode but until dax, noobz, or freeplay find a way around the pre-ipl securitys the battery is useless or get to kernel mode with the gamesave expoit and since then datel has changed the blue lite batteries features on their website to only support psp 2000 series, guess they thought it would have been cracked by now and didn't want to get sued for false advertising bs.
for me i'm fine with sticking with the slim for now since i have everything that phat can do except for the IR, but more memory, speed and the fact that i pay like $90 a year for skype to make it a wifi phone with unlimited minutes and its own phone number is pretty nice.

Custom Firmware exists for the 3000 now.
You need to find something called the ChickHEN 'Eggsploit.'
It is an exploit found in TIFF images that runs a .bin file you put at the root of your memory stick. It will give you the HEN custom firmware. From there, the only safe CFW I think you can install is GEN-A. M33 might work now, but it could brick your PSP, and there is currently no way to unbrick the 3000.
