That's why you call and ask them what their return policy is for returning Xbox 360's! And why would you buy 3 @ a time, seems a little excessive.

its so weird, ive been getting bunch of liteons drives. all the stores around have new lot numbers/manufacturing date. Used system at gamestop is weird also, some have old numbers but have lite on drives. So i still cant find one. I guess im gonna get a samsung drive and get the connectivity kit. i would see if Kmart sell some old one, but i have no clue if they open on thanksgiving, so i got to see. The people at Gamestop had a idea of what i was tring to do, but i played dumb and say drives on new ones are loud, while most stores look at me like wtf? y u need to know that. lol. Well, im tired, thanks everyone for helpin.

well i think you're pursuing a hopeless cause. i regret even mentioning the lot #'s and that drive list website cause its really an out-of-date methodology.

months ago i'm sure it was a very useful thing... to go to a local store and check the lots #'s because there were low enough ones that you could get lucky and find a benq drive.

but the time for that has come and gone. the only chance you have for buying a BRAND NEW console and getting a benq or other drive is luck. i'm sure it happens to people every day but when its 2 or 3 in 100 there is no science about it.. some people get lucky but the vast majority don't.

yea, im gonna try spoofing... im kinda falling asleep now, reading this, im getting confused i need either a rs232 adapter, connetivity kit, or Maximus thing. Bridge two points with solder. and for xbox live safe, it has to be flashed to a benQ, which is later gonna be banned sooner or later. Or maybe ill wait until someone dumps the rom and maybe hack it...yea...im headin 2 bed.

Almost makes you wanna forget about trying to hack it if you have to go through all the trouble. Hopefully we'll see some success with the Lite-On drive, but I honestly don't see it happening anytime soon.

Thats true, dont see it happening soon. And I might just buy games, see some good games through demos, play online, download/buy add-on, and do things legally like how its suppose to be done. But some game is good to have a backup of cause i end up ruining the disk, but u could install it to harddrive and put in the game disk that you want to play, it make sure the game belong to you and load it off hard drive...yea i might do that lol.

To think about it, there's not alot of reasons to install a different firmware on the xbox 360 drives, besides pirating games, and maybe drive spoofing it because the old drive is dead, or maybe some higher/slower speed read hacks if they come out that is.
