I think the q9550 will do even if warhead only runs 2 cores from it.

You will need to overclock it. The Q9550 has a limit in the mid 20s for frame rate in Warhead, and as such the game will still lag in certain areas.

Oh then I can just play it at lower settings. All I need is for it so that it doesn't make a slite lag every second like my current computer does but over time is fine.

That's pretty much impossible to avoid in Warhead really, but as long as you use Vista-64 and have 4GB of RAM it's not too bad (the game WILL lag if you have less or if you use XP, no way around that)

I thought xp requires less than vista. I just don't want it to lag every second maybe like every minute is fine. What about if I put it to lower settings? Will it do more than 30? How much frames per second is considered smooth running? Ive heard that 60 has no lag at all and is considered smooth. Then I hear that 45 is smooth. How much fps really is smoother running? Thanks.

It does, but for one XP can't address enough memory to play the game properly, and for two, the game runs better on Vista, that's just how it is. If you use all 'Gamer' rather than 'Enthusiast' you shouldn't encounter any issues, most fast Dual core CPUs can cope with that. Normally for smooth gameplay I'd say a frame rate of 60, not just for the average, but minimum. Some games you can get away with down to about 35, but any lower and you feel it. Crysis however (Warhead included) is unique in that if the frame rate never exceeds 30 it can still feel smooth, just try not to let it drop below 25, it starts to show then.
