thats where i was going to buy my hdmi before i found the ebay sale. but ill plug them as well, almost every cable i own has come from monoprice and they are the best and cheapest by FAR.

And with out a doubt, I too have noticed much better video quality on my 50" Samsung with HDMI at 1080p vs. component at 720p and 1080i, and even rgb at 1920x1080.
It's not the Xbox, it's the set that's responsible for the difference in video through component cables. I agree, component will carry 1080p all day. Most sets do not accept 1080p input through component. Also many sets devote proccesssing power to the HDMI inputs, hence the sometimes soft picture from video through component.

I have a launch console that did not support hdmi or 1080p till they did a dashboard update to allow 1080i and 1080p. whats weird is 1080i is a lot more clearer than 1080p. For some reason when text is displayed on the screen there is kind of a soft offset of the text to the side making it fuzzy and no problems with 1080i. I think its the problem that the launch consoles were not made to support 1080p through component in the first place and I dont want to buy a new console just for hdmi
