Burning 360 on my lap but no good should i buy external Hlp PLZ

It is releativly easy to remove a disc drive from a laptop and look at the manufacture and model type. most laptops have a little switch or something near the drive that u flick to either unlock/eject the drive. i know ibm/lenovo has a tab u pull out and it pulls the drive with it and then when u are done u just slide it back in, this is designed so the average user can swap the drive if needed. i would turn it off first of course. but that will be the most direct way of getting the info for the dvd drive. its an acer laptop but the dvd drive could been made by someone else like TSST or NEC or someone.
however i did find the laptop model listed on some site and it did say it had DVD+R DL support.

i would guess its an acer DVD the only thing thats not right is 1280x800 even i use that always.my friend downloaded some thing so now i can go to 2048x1536 so i guess its some thing like that u wanna find to boost the dvd-burner. But look above it clearly says it support Double Layer.so im afraid i buy a external and the same shit happens :(

well the only other thing i can think of to try would be uninstall imgburn and then reinstall it and dont change any of the settings, just open it and select write and then point to the dvd file
oh one more thing can u copy and paste the text inside the .dvd file and put it here for us to see just to make sure it is correct.

right click the .dvd file. open with and chose notepad but uncheck the box that says to always use that program to open that filetype.

Im almost sure because when i tried to burn whith alcohol 120% the max speed i could choose was 2.4x and thats what it says on the sticker on my lap for DL. but even tough im little sceptic because ive done everyting right,so maybe best to buy a external DVD-Writer
This drives me crazy so i bought a external samsung SE-s224 but now listen to this shit i chosse 2.4x writespeed on imgburn but it jumps to 4.1x every time but now i made some copies and im going to another store it was my brothers idea. maybe his right the store i was in had no idae of back ups he just said im just flashing ur boxes dont know shit about computers. so i contacted an other store and they said im welcome to try if they work so next week on wensday i should know if this dvd burner did the job. if not something is going to fly through the window. just confused why the external wont write in speed 2.4x havent tried it on alcohol 120% though but ive heard some people burn in speed 4.1x and it works fine. we shall see on wensaday.
ps: thx again all u guys who tried to help me,hope i can return the favor some day. special thx to the guy who even said i could come home to his place for help to bad i live in sweden.

i've never had to change any of the settings in imgburn..plus i've always used CloneCD to burn mine(might want to try that one time..imgburn is my backup program for the 360 burns)..what is the actual name of file you are trying to burn? what i mean is, is it labelled "IMAGE1.iso" or just "image.iso"? if it is just labelled "image.iso", rename it to "IMAGE1.iso"(just right click on it>Rename>type in "IMAGE1">hit enter)
also, 4x's might be the slowest that burner will burn at..even if you select 2.4x..the burn will only burn as slow as the limits on it will allow..i have 2 in my desktop that only go as low as 4x's..

the disc is only designed to run at 2.4x usually with verbatim dvd+r dl it is burning at 4 cause the burner wont go lower i guess. the higher u burn at the more chance for errors, especially when the disk is meant for 2.4x max.
and the reason that guy changed settings is cause he must have not been using a dvd file. the setting he changed was layer break, the dvd file has that setting in it so there is no need to manually set it when u are using dvd file

One more question is cloneCD easy to use? sorry im no com expert so i didnt get the change image.iso to IMAGE1.iso what soes that do change the small letters to big and add a 1. (my best friend was by the newspapers rated one of 10 greatest hackers -99. when i had friends. his friend was the comadore 64 then amiga 500 whith 56kb/modem then pc. he really didnt have any friend to late 20s. now hes retired but hes such genius so when i ask him someting and i dont get it he says ARE U FUCKING STUPID!!! i asked him once "hey i found a book its called the hackers handbook can i be good as u i asked? he said use the book as toilet paper its worth crap. he could help me easy but have a short temper if i dont get a thing he says dont have time whith this.

i suggest running the iso through abgx360 and seeing if its patched right. the newest firmwares wont load games that arent stealthed right. if it finds anything wrong with it then thats why its not working in your xbox.
folow this guide to edit the .ini file that comes with the program and that will tell it where to get the stuff to auto fix the iso if its bad.

Mooooooooahahaha FINALY im so happy burnt 3games on my new external samsung burner. went to a store that flashes xbox he had a console whith ixtreme 1.5 all 3 games worked so the problem was that my laptop couldnt burn the games why?? its a mystery but i think like stealth said i needed to download some firmwire to the burner BUT WHY THE FUCK DOES IT SAY LIKE THIS WHEN i CHECK MY LAP OUT

AS u can see it says it have support for double layer. as do the sticker on my lap?? what the fuck u cant just put stickers on laps whith false statements right?
but no harm done tomorrow im going to the store to flash mine finaly. cost 60euro in 1h 50euro pick up next day=thats like 1game the samsung se-224 external burner 50 euro=1game but now 1 game cost me 5euro=verbatim 8x DL+R (made in singa pore not the made in india)
But still im going to buy the 10/10 games that is worth the money this i just wanted so i can copy the games that i wouldnt normaly buy. IN fact i would rather bought the better PS3 but after years of waiting for a chip to play backups on PS3 "good work sony" but as soon somebody cracks the PS3 i the first to buy it. and i think many people chosed the xbox because of the ability to play backups otherwise they would buy PS3. Think sony did a misstake to make it so safe if it was cracked they would sell alot of more consoles.
Thanks Stealth and everybody else that helped me now i just have 1 question is the quality of burnt disc better on alcohol 120% then on imgburn or cloneCD nero? i mean its hard to belive the best software is the one thats for free "imgburn" and whats the differance of ixtreme 1.5 and the older ones what improvments have they done and can i put games on my xbox HD?
PS:im sure all knows the piratebay have a trail going on now some movie/music company suid them of some fantasy sum + maybe jailtime i hope the get accuited. But what USA wants it usually gets :( do they show the trail on usa news i mean it was usa that suid the swedish made piratebay

yea pb has been in the news here as well.
burning software doesnt matter for quality of burns, if they work they work. usually bad burns are from either the drive error or the user error.
ixtreme 1.5 has better stealth for live use. as mikeismad said the older firmwares will not play the newer backups due to bad angles in disc but the new fw can work around that somehow.
u can install games to the HD using the newest dashboard update which is the NXE. it will let you install a game from dvd to the HD but u are still required to have the dvd in the system so it knows u own the game. otherwise ms would have handed us a very nice tool for piracy. the benefit is reduced load times, quieter drive since it is not spinning constantly and less heat buildup. or if u have a disc that is scratched badly u can install game to HD with a good copy and then use the scratched copy to keep playing the game. however some games like halo 3 were made before ms announced this feature for future use at the time and bungie designed the game for dvd use only so if u install to HD it will load much slower.

havent run the program.if u read at the bottom of page u see i solved the problem. it was the lap that lied about support DL
but this program can come in handy some other time is it like xdvdmulletter that also says if the game is ok to play live or just /even better fix any bugs so its exactly like the original game if the .iso is damaged for some reason? i check the link now and see if i understand what the program does. thx for trying to help ur so helpfull on this site. but like i said read the bottom and u see how i fixed the problem.

and yes abgx does the same as mulleter but mulleter isnt used anymore, the database for it isnt supported so new stuff isnt added. ABGX is the way to go

Sorry had no idea wont happen again. The missunderstanding why i thought it was np. because we talked about how to burn a xbox copy unrar and all what we talked about i mean no one makes a backup copy of his own games lol. but now i know hope i dont get banned. anyway tomorrow i will play "my" backup games now when the problem is solved finaly really drove me mad. but should have googled for firmwire to laptop dvd-burner this external thing is really big. thx for the warning bro. i know i should have found fireware to laptop but couldnt wait anymore.

thx for the link im sure i will need it someday. but i solved the problem it was my lap that for x-files reasons wouldnt burn DL+R but i bought a samsung se224 external. burnt 3 games whith speed 4.1x all worked perfect :) but antway thx for the link i will use that on games i wanna play live
