why do i have to take aprt my dvd drive and it is only usable if its 8gb image an its under that size and does not work with that app :/

you have to take it apart to do the hot swap with a large size dvd movie like Lord of the rings or anything over 7.5gb.

I have seen a couple of tutorials on how to use a dual layer dvd drive and using the little hole that basically unlocks your drive but it is a pain because if you don't get it out or you hit the eject button then you have to start all over. I would suggest getting a new burner and take the top off. It will save you a huge amount time and frustration. Also it's not hard to take it off I'm sure there is a tutorial if you can't figure out 4 screws and a couple of tabs. Also get you a coolmax multifunctional all-in-one converter to hook your drive up externally its makes a world of difference. Hope this helps.

hotswap with wot other disk as said above the size is les then 8 gb :/

you can use the emergency eject hole but that wears the drive out fast and will ruin it quikcly. I wouldnt buy a new drive to use for this. It doesnt have to be a dual layer burner either, a standard dvd rom that will read dual layer is all you need. I have several old DVD roms laying around and i have tried this method in 3 of them and it works.

less than 8 is ok as long as it is at least 7gb. I have seen some work that are 7gb, but you may have to try a few. I got mine to work with Narnia
