At any rate, LG non-retail OEM burners found in desktops are pretty awful too. I've never understood why that is. The retail ones always seem to read and burn great.

It's easy to hate the LG/Hitachi's found in various DELL rigs, they ain't quite right and LG disavows their very existence if you need support.
