It is good advice all round.I know other people have wrote this already but people just need to relax.Coming on moaning and giving out to people is not going to solve our problems.when we get a fix everybody will know.we all still have about 120 EXTRA channels so where not doin to bad.

uuuugggg.not to worrie cable still intact.WOW what a reaction,many of you out there on edge of seat relax,thats it deep breath and hold,hold,hold,hold,now exhale and repeat,thats it feeling better,good.just a thought that crossed my mind.A BAD THOUGHT i must say.hope i can be forgiven[shame on me]In a lifetime many a threat can be made,very few are carried out,this is one which will not be carried out.sorry for any offence commited,hope this is put to bed now.dont forget deep breaths and hold,hold,hold,ha.ha.

lol. I expected flame to go 90 when i posted earlier but it was a misunderstanding.

the law in ireland says that anyone having had cable tv,and at some stage had it switched off,is entitled to be able to view all irish channels free by use of their cable connection as they paid for that connection.and also customers were asked to remove their rte ariel from there roof in the eighties as it was thought they miight interfere with the cable signal(this is in effect why they are obliged to leave these channels free to air,that is untill all irish transmissions go digital in the years to come,as is the case now in the uk).so you only need a connection(no basic required)to get all irish tv,a once of payment gets you all uk and other channels(as above)you still have your free channels for now on your box,andin the future i hope when they find a fix.this is what i have its not bad at all.hope i helped a little.

ya know if i get a satillite from maplin and stick it up at the side of my house the satillite would be facing the gabel wall of my neighbours house like within 6ft..
I was thinking of getting sky+ but people say to get satillite but wont i miss alot of channels with just plain ould 60cm satillite ,..
and if i get sky+ and i pick the music mix does that mean i dont get channels like paromonet comedy and other channels like dave and g.o.l.d. ....oh and can you get setanta ireland on it with out subscribing to setanta
any info very much apericiated

your dish must be able to point to the satelite in the sky without any thing blocking it(houses or trees etc).you have to pay extra for sky plus(first you need to subscribe to sky ,then pay to use sky plus,that is the recorder within the box,if you dont pay the extra money the recorder part of your box wont work,so then might aswell have an ordinary sky box).you get the use of sky plus recording free if you pay for the entire sky world package(about ?70 a month).you wont get setanta free or within any package(as its a non sky channel,you have to pay monthly extra on top of your sky bill)as for music mix im not sure,but if you get the basic you get all channels on sky except sky sport/sky movies and pay extra channels.hope i helped good luck.

can ya not get sky+ without a dish if ya live in a city (galway)
i have ntl basic in 4 rooms it cost like ?50 to get it done .. and standard 1 off charge monthly ie. ?20.00.
if i change to sky and i put the box in my sitting room what happens to the other 3 rooms will the get channels like rte bbc channel 4 discovery

Naa Man, Sky is a satellite system.
The only "cable" involved with sky is the one coming from the dish to your sky reciever.
Lmao, dont chop those wires off of your house yet !!

You have a right to ask for the cable to be removed but they are quiet within their rights to refuse and leave the service as is. Just be very careful with as to your next move.

u serious but i'm nearly sure when i bought the house i was not connected to ntl BUT the cable had been brought up to a box behind my front door
