Most any copy will install. The true test is if it will run. Since you're getting the "emulation needed" warning it means your backup isn't up to snuff.
If you give us a a bit more info we can better help you :)
1) Software/settinds and methods used.
2) Make/model burner and firmware version.

Call of Duty uses a more recent version of SafeDisc (2.9+ I think) and so it is HIGHLY hardware dependent. All of you are getting "insert cd" messages during gameplay because your drives are unable to make a perfect copy (hardware limitation, nothing you can really do except upgrade). There is a workaround on http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/36444 but that is very hit-and-miss (because there varying 'grades' of 1-sheepness as well).

Check your autorun settings.

This happens a lot with scratched/dirty discs or even at random. I'm guessing the CD isnt being read properly (i.e., it's reading as if 300MB was copied but only 290MB was actually copied and it thinks its time for CD2 ... and when you put CD2 in, it reads that its not yet time for CD2 because u have 10MB left to copy. I chose the numbers randomly, just to illustrate a point). Consider installing via a DVDrom -- they are typically more leniant

What software did you use to rip your original discs?

Indeed, that would be a Rule 5 infraction.

hi, i have been trying to backup Call of Duty for a long time now and I have had no luck at all. I have tried using Alcohol 120% v1.9.2 build 1705, BlindWrite 5, and CloneCd v4.3.2.2. I have a 1-Sheep-Burner, a Philips PCRW1208. I have followed all the previous guides and all I can manage to do is make an image file. Every time I try to actually burn the file to disc, it says that there is some sort of problem. I used Clony XXL to determine that my Call of Duty has Safedisc 2.9 on it. Does anybody have an answer as to why I have made no progress in trying to back this game up? Does anyone know a way to backup CoD?

Hi,
My best guess would be that your burner isn't up to the task. Defeating the newer protections gets more and more dependant on the right hardware. The guide for using 1-sheep burners isn't a rock-solid guarantee that it'll work.
You're using the right software though :)
If you're interested, the Asus 5232AS and the Lite On 52327S are both very good at writing protections and either one can be had for a little over $30.

Thaks for the help, however, I would actually like to get a CD/DVD burner to replace my current one. Do you know of any good 2 sheep CD/DVD burners?

I can vouch for the Plextor PX-708A. I recently made a very nice backup of Painkiller (SafeDisc 3.2) with it and and BlindWrite5. The copy plays from all three of my drives :)
