I dunno man...all EA games are region locked, meaning a PAL game won't work on a NTSC console and viceaversa, period.

hello every one.
im new to this im kinda stuck
i have a couple of questions i neeed help with
1) where can i get the link for XBox 360 w/ XTreme Firmware Update the same one that tweeter recommended??
2)is there any way i can get a 360 game from cd and put all the data on my computer, or do all the games have to be downloaded???
3) i have some files for call of duty 2 that start out like this ::
Call_of_Duty_2_Secure_Sector_USA_XBOX360-iNSTEON/i-cod2u.rar
Call_of_Duty_2_Secure_Sector_USA_XBOX360-iNSTEON/i-cod2u.sfv

my question is do i need to do any patching on this, or just straight burn and if so, how would i do it??
what about for gears of war, here is the code i got:

Anyone have any idea where else I would find any ss files?
The original link is dead and the security sectors over at http://ss.softmodfiles.net/ dont work for my fifa 07!

i have tried wat you have suggested and still it comes up with invalid block address, i already have the games and need to copy them , i don't need to dowload them but is that the only way i can do it is if i download them can you give me a good address to get them from thanks!!!

can some one shed some light pls , iam using a poneer 110 do i need to update the firmware to burn back ups i have read that you need to change the bittseting to dvd rom (booktype) This drive doesnt support that ,i have checked with dvd infopro , or is it possible just to load iso with clone cd or even load .dvd file with image burn will this work

Hey everyone. I am new to the forum but not new to modding. With the xbox 360 games, I would just like a little input on how to burn them. I have a couple games downloaded and both games have a .iso and a .dvd file. With the original xbox, I know I only need to burn the .iso file. But with the xbox 360, what do I do with the files I have? Do i need to merge with the .dvd file? Do I burn the .dvd file or .iso file alone? It does not seem like I should just burn the .dvd file alone because it is only 32 bytes and the .iso is 7.5 GB. A little info on what I should do next would be awesome. I've had these games downloaded for a while and have been searching at what to do with them so I don't waste my dual layer DVD's cuz these bitches are expensive. Alright guys, take it easy and thanks for your time.

ok here goes what you do is get clone cd or DVD Decrypter then you select the iso file which is the small one and you select the write from image file thats with clone cd with DVD Decrypter you can just drag the file over to the program hope this help let me know how you get on c

you're correct, pioneer's don't support bitsetting, the good news is that pioneer drives automatically bitset dual layer media!! :) gotta love pioneer.
so, just load the .dvd file in either the newest version of imgburn or clonecd and burn :)

either download and install the latest version of imgburn or clonecd and then open the .dvd file and burn w/ either one. the .dvd file is just a text file which contains the image file's name and layerbreak info.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think have found my solution. For what I have for programs on my computer right now, there are 2 ways I can go about doing this:
METHOD 1: Run DVD Decrypter and load the .iso file to burn. Open up a MS wordpad and open the .dvd file. That will show me the layer break. In DVD Decrypter, I then go to "tools" "options" and then the "ISO write options" i think it is called and then enter the layer break code in the box on the right and I am all set to go with my Dual Layer burner.
METHOD 2: My dual layer burner came with a copy of ROXIO DVD-R DL software. This software apparently does not need the layer break code to burn dual layer as it is formatted to detect the file size and the layer crossover. This is the method I usually use for burning the Dual Layer DVD's and it seems to work. I will post once I have my chip installed and have booted one of these discs.

Use method 1, works like a charm, but you left one step out, once you put the LayerBReak in DVD Decryptor you need to REMOVE than line fro the .DVD file and save it before burning.

Ok. How do I "remove" it? Do I just delete it in wordpad and then save it? Or how am I supposed to remove it? Thanks

If I were to buy a new 360 right now, what drive would it most likely have?
and why is it that everyone keeps saying samsungs are better for modding?

The type of drive you have depends on the version you buy. Premiums and Cores have different drives. Originally, Cores had the Samsung and the Premiums had the Hitachi/LG. The reason why most people say Samsungs are the best is because there are less wires to solder the mod chips into the samsung (4 wires) compared to the Hitachi/LG (11 wires). So, there is nothing functionally better about the samsung as compared to the Hitachi/LG, it is just easier to solder chips into.

is a mod chip needed? I thought it was just the extreme firmware that was needed...

No, a modchip is not needed, it is just that there continues to be ever-changing versions of firmwares and I have the "fuck it" attitude where it would be a better investment for me to get the modchip rather than extract firmware and repatch every 20 days or so. It's pretty much all up to the user as to the preference of what is used

HI mate, many thakns for the guide to burning 360 games but i have encountered a problem.
Followed as you said and DL scarface. I opened the .nfo file and it said 'The game is not in the Database' then said 'ISO looks like an xtreme way made iso (No video partition)????
ANy ideas what I am doing wrong?
Silly question, when looking at the .nfo file how can you tell if it needs a patch or not?

I read through this entire thread but it's 4:30 am here and I may have missed this...I'm gonna order the pioneer 111D drive soon (the black version 111dbk to be exact, which I certainly hope is absolutely identical to the non BK version not counting the color....knowing this stuff it won't work...lol)
Anyways my question is: What is the preferred +R DL media brand for this drive, should I stick with verbatim or is there a better choice in anyone's experience for the 111d drives?

While Verbatim seems to be the media of choice for nearly everyone here in this forum as well as the xbox-scene forums, that is probably your best bet to go with. I, myself, use Memorex, which some people are not too fond of, but I have had no troubles with burning the games.

Yah but even though some crappier media works, a lot of it works you're drive 10x the amount, I have noticed that a ton. A friend burned a couple games for me on Fuji and they make my drive go NUTS even though they work, so I moved them on to Verbatim and quite as a whistle. Big difference.
