I have no real problems with this unit except one.

videos that were encoded using xvid with variable audio bitrate tend to go out of sync from time to time, before it happens, the audio while playing will studder, sort of go mute on and off for a few frames and then the audio is out of sync.

a fix for it, atleast for me is to press the fast forward or rewind button and then the play button, do this fast and you only miss a second or two of the show.

the video runs fine on my computer.. only happens while in use on the 642.

I have the 1109 firmware installed.

if I re-encode the video using vdub, using direct video and re-encode the audio to mp3 using the average bitrate, usually 128, it works fine, although sometimes I will get portions where the audio might be out a bit because i used the average and sometimes the audio might have been 192 at that point when it was variable.

Has anyone had any problems with audio sync using the 642/17 ?

is there a setting on the machine I might be missing?
