I bought Terminator 2 extreme edition, and have been unable to back it up at all. Has anyone been successful at backing this one up?

Did you try ripping it with DVD Decrypter?

Yep. Tried DVD Decrypter, and the video is badly distorted. Also, tried 1 Click with DVD43 and AnyDVD, and DVD Wizard Pro. This is the only video I have not been able to back up. I read that when it was released it had a different kind of copyright blocker???

After Decrypter do you end up with all files/ISO image on your hard drive? What program are you using to compress and burn with, what dvd-5s are you using

I end up with all the files in my hard drive. If I try to play a .VOB file directly from my hard drive it is distorted. I usually use 1 click to compress and burn to DVD, and I use Sony DVD+R. I didnt try to compress and burn since the files seemed to be corrupted. SHould I compress and burn anyway?

If Decrypter can rip the dvd without errors and the disc is an original I can't see the files as being corrupt. I would compress and burn anyway, I mean it's only one DVD-5. Let me know how it turns out

That is the first time I've ever read that. If the original plays back ok, and you rip it with DVD Decrypter ... the ripped file will playback ok.

DVD Decrypter isn't able to compress. So I don't see how it would be badly distorted.

How big is the original Terminator 2 dvd? And, how big is the ripped file?

I didn't know that there was an extreme edition of T2.But I have back-up all three just using dvd decypter and shrink.I would get I/O errors from DVD Decrypter using DVD43 it's driver conflicts with my dvd burner. If it has a new blocker it must be ArCoSSe from sony. And you probably need to update you AnyDVD from there site. That's interesting that they change the copy protection on this movie.I guess the older copy protection was CSS content scrambling system on the older T2 movie. All of the terminator movie that I backed up were before this extreme edition that you metioned.

I compressed and burned after decrypter riped with no errors. THe final result is still unplayable in the DVD player. The original is though. THe ripped file is 7.8 Gig. THis is the first time I've ran into problems this bad. I was reading how they have a new decryption on this movie. I havent read from anybody that could successfully rip it so not sure if it can be.

Did you try movie only or the entire disc? This last time what did you use to compress?
