I wanted to join 2 xvid files into 1, and for that task i used VirtualDUB, following the steps of the guide published here.
The join processes was completed succesfully, but the joined AVI had audio problems. At the end of first part, it has an audio glich. At first i can hear a "beep", and then, the audio lowers its volume (at the begining of the second part), and it remains lower during all the second part. I played the two files separately, and neither of them has this problem on its own, the problem shows itself only in the joined file. It seems that VirtualDUB can not mix the files without lowering the audio in the second part. I tried the same with some other programs like AVIJoin, but i have the exact same problem. Is there a way to solve this? If someone posts a solution, please send me also a link to some guide with the steps, i'm newbie and i'm unfamiliar with most of the tasks.
Thanks in advance.

Almost nobody uses the original VirtualDub for anything anymore, they use VDubMod (for encoding MPEG4 AVI) or NanDub for working with all audio formats.
That said, joining two AVIs can be tricky - appending the second onto the first can disrupt the audio synch.
But I must say I haven't encountered your issue before...
Try using Nandub. It can be found within the GordianKnot Rippack

GKnot is a suite of tools for backing-up DVDs to DivX or XviD (MPEG4) AVIs.
It is always best to work with source files on 1 HD and output the results to a 2nd HD - that way 1 HD only reads and the other only writes.
The wear & tear on 1 HD asked to simultaneously do both can be extreme...
Anyway, let us know if you get it sorted out,
Regards
