Hi, I usually buy DVD+R's online because I get a pretty good deal on them, But I was just wondering if Memorex DVD+R's are good to make backups of my PS2 Games. If not what are some good ones that I can buy.
Thank you!

Stay away from Memerox!!
Buying online - TY's or Verbatim
In Store - Fuji, Sony, Verbatim, Maxell
These all have had good reviews on the board.

I second that. Do a search on memorex media and you wll see all the bad reviews and problems. Look at my sig (and others as well).

agreed to 2 above posts... :)
RUN AWAY from memorex...check my sig. for GOOD dvd+r media...the ones listed under Taiyo Yuden can be bought locally under the FUJI and SONY brand names for dvd+R media, but make sure you get the MADE IN JAPANS for my recommendations to hold true~
Recommended Media:
Taiyo Yuden 4x dvd-r TYGO1/ 8x dvd-r TYGO2/ 8x dvd+r YUDEN000T02/ 16x dvd+r YUDEN000T03
Verbatim 8x dvd+r MCC003
Verbatim dvd+r DL (MKM001)= flawless no compression backups

well, i would HIGHLY recommend you stay CLEAR of the generic ones or even the compusa/office depot/staples branded media~ that is just MY suggestion~ you might think they burn "perfectly" now, but i assure you, give it a couple of months and you will not have these so called "perfect burns" anymore. there will be playback issues, skipping, pixillation, or a combination of all the above or even NON-PLAYBACK entirely~
please do yourself a favor and get some good, RELIABLE media, don't say i didn't warn you~ you will regret it later down the road, seriously, i am ONLY trying to help you out daviel100~ :)
you might think you are saving a few dollars NOW, but, you will wish you had just spent a little more to get some decent media, you have been warned~ :) i know what i am talking about in terms of media, please don't blow me off like im crazy, i am trying to help you save some headache down the road~ have a good day~

Has anyone ever ordered DVD-R 8X from Media Supply? I am new and ordered my first spindle of TY's from SuperMediaStore, but this place will cut my shipping time AND shipping cost in half!!! I don't want to get "fake" media, though... Hope SOMEONE out there has some experience with this vendor... Thanks

Ok, Ill do what you said "kivory666" Ill try to get some good DVD+R's, like some Verbatim or TY's. The only bad thing is, that I have been using CompUSA ones and have like 50 backups already. So if they go bad like you say, then I guess ill have to back them up again.
Thank you!

@Daviel
I am new to this as well. I read a lot on here and only got the TY's and Verb's and I have had NO problems whatsoever!!! I know that it gets tempting to try some of the bargain stuff from time to time, but in the long run, you get what you pay for... These guys are great!!!

Daviel,
Use this free proggy http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/ to determine the manufacturer of your compusa discs and let us know who it is. You may want to copy them to quality media before they become unreadable.
