My drive will burn at 16X. Verbatim DVD+R 16X discs seem to work Very well, but... If I burn at 8X instead, will I produce better, more error-free, more durable or longer-lasting DVD's?

I doubt if they will be longer lasting, or more durable.But when you burn slower you lessen your chances of errors.IMO

Personally, even with good media (i.e., TY) I burn at x4 and never any faster... for just this reason!

I agree 4x is fast enough for me, even though my burner will go 16x.
