Dave_UK,

I'm a bit confused by your post (I'm sure it's me)

Where does the Yaki dvd V560 come into it ?

Is this a settop box ?

The Pioneer A105 is an excellant burner (wish I had one).

What burning software are you using. If this is a new install, one very good piece of advise.

ASSUME NOTHING !!!

This means just because it's brand new does'nt mean it will "work out of the box".

Answer my questions, and I'll do my best to help.

sorry
yes it is an under the tv DVD player
it was all working fine when i first got it, then it just stoped playing any kind of dvd rip, it will play vids encoded from neo dvd onto a -RW DVD and thats it

i have tryed the read me's like using smartripper or dvd decrypter then ifoedit and finish off with nero, i have just tryed Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum with the new xp update
but still no dvd backup, even dvdxcopy will not do it

i know that this under the tv player will play -R & -RW disk's, and it did

i am just stumped as to what is the best way to backup my dvd's, If you or anyone else can help with an idiots guide from start to burn it would be very very helpfull, and i mite have some hair left LOL

Thank You

hello......
ok do this:
ripp with dvd-decrypter in file mode,,open the original .ifo file with Ifoedit 0.91,,then click on Vobextras and the directory should be a new folder,,choose your language and subtitle and strip it ,,check all the "vobld" and then just hit tha button strip it,,this will take 15 minutes,,,then finally hit the button get VTS sectors and klick on ok on every question u get and then its ready to burn..i always use Nero 5.5.9.17 and burn it in Video mode,,,then drag your files that ifoedit 0.91 created for u,,it should be:4-5 .Vob files,,2 .Bup files and 2 :Ifo files...

If u can take your standalone player back then I'd strongly advise that u do and buy a pacific from asda, probably cheaper than what you have now and has a three year warranty (£59.99) i think. I had a mustek and have a pioneer 105. I no longer make coasters.

I agree - it's your DVD player that's the problem.

The Pacific 1002 stand alone DVD Player is being sold by Asda for £45 at the moment : )

Plays everything my mates have had off me & they are well happy (all for under £50)
