all right, i was successful ripping the dvd with dvdshrink 3.2, and then I burned with nero 6.2, everything seems to be perfect, but when i played back on my standalone dvd player, the movie keep freeze every 2 second at the end of the movie...let say the movie have 23 chapter, it freezes from chapter 16 to chapter 23...Any ideas guys...

my dvd drive is sony dru-710a

I already update the firmware...but no luck...any suggestion is great..or any other burning software would be fine....I am using Benq dvd+r to burn movie...

Did you burn the entire DVD? Menus, extras, everything? If so, it might be a case of too much compression. If you started with an 8.5 gig original and shrunk it to a 4.3 gig single layer blank, you're getting a compression of around 55%, which is pretty tight. I copy just the main movie and try to stay above 70%.

The other problem might be your blank media. If it's not good quality, the ink/dye might be spread unevenly over the disk, or it might be bad the closer you get to the edge. Try some different media.

Also, keep your burn speeds around 4x (even less with questionable quality media). Slower burn speeds usually work better in my experience.

software huh? I would have suggested slowing down burn speeds and changing media, but if your problem's fixed then your problem's fixed.
