I have codebreaker. I tried put in cb then hd loader, but so far doesn't seem to work. I will try some more games later, right now I'm just installing the them.

bird7/2kwic, can you elaborate? I'm using action replay, I load that frist then went to the expert mode, choose a game and set the codes, hit start. Insert HDloader, so far so good, HDloader menu load no problem, after I highlight the game I went and hit "play", then screen goes black. Do I have to update AC or download some kind of code for this to work? someone help. thanks

i don't use action replay if your going to upgrade get codebreaker 9.0 the newest one

yeah, i've only heard about codebreaker (and maybe gameshark) working with hdl/hda. i have codebreaker 4,7,8 and HDA, and no problems.
PS2 v7 39001 + 64MB MC
200GB Seagate oem
Retail HDA (HDL Fully Patched)
boot = Launchelf 3.4b
exploit = Codebreaker 8.1 method

discumax, what hd loader you have? You can get the latest patch here:
http://www.ps2hd.com/
If it still doesn't work, you might have to upgrade the firmware.

don't you have to have a mod chip to use HD Loader? I tried it with some cheat discs (swapping) and it doesn't do anything at all

@blinkguy: no you dont need a mod chip. you may not have done something correctly. i use codebreaker 4 or 8.1 with my retail HDA all the time. i loaded CB4 (and CB7) to my HD and run them using the exploit, then swap my trigger cd with my HDA cd/dvd and it's cheats a plenty. with my 8.1 cd, just boot up with that, select cheats, then pop in my HDA cd/dvd then updated cheats a plenty.
if you're trying to load up cheats and then run HDL from your exploit, i dont think that will work. i dont know if it could work. never tried it, but now i have an excuse to do something different.

@marty: you really should READ through the message posts. because my message right above yours talks about using codebreaker with HDA all the time.

you can get CB from nearly any game shop, but i got mine from walmart. it was version 8.1. but if you could find it, i would suggest version 9.X. i hear it's got better menu options, AND hdd support.

i did what bird 7 says,
1)open cheat device
2)select cheats
3)click start game
4)insert hd loader disk
5)play
the sequence works well, up to the point of playing the game, but the cheats doesn't work. any tips on this?
i have a V7 Codebreaker

from my experience, CB7 was buggy, and somewhat difficult to get it working. glad i borrowed it from someone else. but i own CB4 and that was good and stable. CB8.1 is pretty good too. 8.1 would be a good one to use because it's stable and constantly works. i hear 9 works pretty good and has hdd support.

that's kinda what i meant in 'the same exact manner' because with codebreaker all you do is:
1. load up codebreaker
2. select cheats
3. put in hdl/hda cd
4. selet the game
5. cheats a plenty (assuming nothing is conflicting)
i dont know how AR works because i dont have it. i assume it's the same exact method, but since i have not seen it in 'action' i can't say. all i can suggest is that you try it out if you have it.
