Hi All,

I have a question regarding the use of Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools software (updated to the most recent release (3.25)) in conjunction with a Razr V3.

With the Razr connected via USB to my laptop the "out of the box" Mobile Tools software creates an "Internet Connection" profile that, when run, cleanly connects to a local GPRS network and I can freely access the Internet.

I would like to get the Razr to simply act as a modem, allowing me to create a profile using the Windows Dial-up client and use the phone to call a remote modem and make a PPP connection. The Phone Tools software appears to allow you to use the Windows client to initiate a call but the phone simply displays the number it's been asked to dial and quickly disconnects and the software reports that the remote hardware is not responding.

Opening a HyperTerminal connection to the phone and trying to manually dial a number only yields a "no carrier" message almost immediately after entering the atdt command. In essence, using either Phone Tools or direct connection the phone gets the proper number to dial but never attempts the call.

I must be missing something obvious - any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your time!!
