Hiya

I have a Sony DWU14A DVD burner, and for some reason it has slowed to a crawl while burning (1 hour at 4 speed doing 4gb of data). I have checked to ensure that it says DMA in both the primary and secondary channels and it does (i don't rightly know what that means, but somebody suggested that in a different forum). Do any of you bright sparks here have any ideas?

Please make any instructions dead easy!

Ta

Look forward to hearing from you all soon

Make sure your DMA settings for your drive have not changed to PIO. You can do this from your Device Manager. Guide available here

Hi there,

Are you still using the same media ?
Burning at the same speed ?

If you are burning with Nero, post a full log ( Remove Serial # ) and from there I'm sure several people can see more what's going on.

Have you tryed a different media ?
Still the same thing ?

My 2 cents...

I have changed nothing. Ritek discs (so nothing wrong there), i always burn at 4x (coz i am far to impatient for anything less!) I do use Nero, but how do i get the log that you are talking about?

Thanks for taking the time to help

Are you multi-tasking while burning, running your internet? You can also try a defrag, and virus scan. Posting the Nero log will be helpful :~)
