i have a v12 ps2, so i had to buy something as they cut out the memory card exploit with the slim ones. as far as getting onto the memory card without using a pressed bootdisk/mod chip, im not sure. you might be able to do it via lan, so search for something about that. you'd have to get hd advance or whatever on the mem card and go that way, but ive never done it and am not all that sure its possible. in my opinion, id get the HD advance disk (half the price of a game or abouts) then rip the games to a HD, using winhiip, plug the hd into the network adapter and boot up with your HD Advance disk and you're all set.

This is assuming that you have a network adapter already. if not, your limiting factor will be the usb connection and ive never heard anything but complaints with speeds with that.

Well, what i did was buy a mod chip today. Should be here in about five days. With the mod, this should let me boot directly to the usb hard drive right?

This is the modchip i bought
