This thread has already kind of been dealt with, but it was back in May. I thought I'd try to get a bit more info. I did respond to that previous thread with the message below:

"OK, lets begin by recognizing I am pretty much a neophite at hacking into phones (or anything else for that matter). For dummies like me, can I ask what exactly I will need to perform the process of eliminating the 'Cingular' tag on my V220's homescreen and replacing it with the date? What tools or programs would I need and where can I get them? Thanks for helping a really green beginner!"

I would appreciate any help I can get so I don't BBQ my phone!
