Problems with completed dvd-r burn!!!!

I have and Emerson model ewr2ov4, last couple of burns, I've noticed my progam has skipped from the start,to middle of the program. Why is it skipping? What I'm I doing wrong? Is it possible dvd problem? I used those Yellow Maxell discs and TDK discs with no problem I've got those Memorex silver discs first few programs no problem, now i've wasting discs, am I hitting dubbing button to hard or a combination? let me know thanks not a Walmart purchased unit, but a used one.

Memorex is not to be used at all in this recorder!

To many issues with incompatability. The Maxell and TDKs should be fine.
