DVD-R/DVD+R Burning

I received some dvds in the mail that are DVD-R & DVD+R
they only play on my pc but not on my tv's player.
I tried to copy the dvd i received to pc & burned it to a dvd+r
with the same results.
My player is bout 6 years old never had this prob before with burned dvds. maybe the format is wrong?.

Well as you are stating you reicived some blank DVD's in the mail and you burned them with movies, or other info of your own, and those dvds you burned does not play in your DVD player, if that is so 1st we need to know what media that is use DVD identifier (you can google it) download it and tell us what media ID the disc are, also try lowering the speed to 4x, 2x or 2.4x (as in DVD+R) remember to always close session, if you reicived an already burned DVD+R o DVD-R in the mail, maybe they are not correctly burned and follow the above recommedations if you are to copy them, although could you clarify your question, and tell us more info (Computer, Burner, DVD player, etc ,etc hope it helps)

the dvds were not blank but had a concert on them.
maybe its my player ill try another one
