When I transcode my ripped dvd video using ReMPEG2, my video appears to be jerky in the end stages of the video (usually last 10min to 20min). The initial video is perfect. I repeated the above process but not success. I followed the Doom's Guide for DVD-9 to DVD-5 ripping. Is there any specific scale factor level that I need to set as increasing it and trying also makes this (jerky video) happen at a much earlier stage. Is there a way to start the transcoding to start from where it has gone wrong and later combine the two MOVIE.M2V files to make the final VOB's. Thanks in advance.

The problem you describe has often been attributed to poor quality media.

What are you using ?

Thanks for your reply. I basically try to rip the good quality dvd that is available in the market, which plays well with Home DVD Players or in my Desktop PC.

Homer is right, it's a media problem.
Get decent media and it will go away, or get a player that can cope with crap media.
Writing an image may help but decent media would be your best bet.

Thanks for your reply. I am experiencing this problem while transcoding the VOB's to M2V's, but not after burning them onto the DVD.

Sorry, I misunderstood.

You get jerky video playback on the PC after re-encoding but before you have burned the DVD?

I don't use Rempeg, maybe you could try Tmpeg or CCE instead
