I not into consoles so i don't know much about them all i know is put a game cd in and play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where can i get a mod chip???????
How do i mod my ps2???????????

You dont have to install a mod chip if you want, you can buy some boot discs like Swap Magic, but if you want real cheap mod chips go here

I would reccomend getting Swap Magic because you can go online with backups! I dont know nothing about mod chips but I heard you have to turn the mod chip off to go online! I dont really know so dont blame me! But Im a Swap Magic user and I have no problems with my backups.
OH you only have problems with DVD9 games like GT4! And plus Swap Magic is cheaper!

Yep to play an ORIGINAL online game you would have to switch off ur modchip. I have a DMS3 Pro, and for me its impossible to play a backup online, because the modchip is detected as a cheat device. I'm pretty sure you can play online games by using Swap Magic, which is a bit less reliable in booting than a Mod Chip. If it is really important for you to play games online, I suggest just buying the original games(there arent that many out right now), and installing a modchip in your PS2 for reliability in backups.

yes you will have to disable the mod chip and use swap magic with backups online.
a good place to get one is http://www.xmodd.com
they also sell premodded systems.
The best 2 choices are DMS4 Pro and Matrix Infinity because they have flash upgrades. which means you can add features for free just by downloading the upgrades, burning them to a CD and playing them in the PS2. It will flash the chip and add the new features.
