I have somehow managed to break part of a bic pen off when i tried to open my cube. Its stuck on the screw but has broken still inside the alcove that the screw is in.I need to open the damn thing to adjust the POT, but i cant get that screw out.I no this is a long shot but i dont suppose u can adjust the POT externaly? And seein as im prety sure u cant do that does anyone have any suggestions as to how i open the damn thing now.

Or just melt another bic pen and melt it to broken piece and pull it out.

Or u can just leave it and find a media that works at current Ohms:D

Nah better yet, take a soldering iron and place it on top of the piece on top of the screw where the bic pen melted.Try not to touch the screw, but yet get as close as possible to it without touching the screw. It will eventually melt and hopefully you can get to the screw.I think it will just melt the bic pen piece down, but you would have to be extremely carefull not to touch any sides.I would use a desoldering bit for it though, bad thing would be cleaning the bits afterwards.

Thanx guys ive tried everything above but i wastn able to make any of them work. Ive taken a saw to the cube and severed the the plactic linking the screws to the upper case and seems to be worken fine now. Took a surprising amount of brute force to seperate the top from the bottom thow.

Just a sugestion for those who adjust the POT often. I went to my local hardware store with the orignal nintendo screw that came out of my cube and replaced them with screws with a phillips head so you dont have to worry about the bic pen again if you need to get back into your cube.

The same happened to me, Can't get it out with the help of a drill or a soldering iron!

I think I'll go for the saw method, I have a new replacement case so..

Wow,that really sucks to be honest I feel for you guys/gals that go through this problem.Using a saw has to be a pain in the arse if this is the only way that works for you.

Poking with screwdriver it to brake that piece is even easyer than sawing case :D

I don't think there exists a drill bit small enough to open a Gamecube.

i guess its just the draw of luck whether the pen breaks or not.
i tried many times and it never broke once, but i never managed to open the cube, so i basically wasted many pens. Damb.

There are small enought drill pieces to open the cube, but u need to watch out as they are very weak and break easily. Another set back.

Secondly, theres no realy any point of buying the special Gamebit screwdriver when you can my a full set of screwdriver changable heads for cheap. A 5/32" head for a nutdrver can open the cube. Basically what the gamebit is.
