Hi
I have searched through this forum before posting this thread.

I am trying to backup a dvd for my ps2 slimline. I have got the swap magic kit 3.6 with the slim tool and it works perfectly.

Firstly, i tried to backup motocross mania 3 on to a mitsubishi dvd+r with dvd decrypter and it worked fine. Next i tried to back up tt superbikes on tdk dvd+r and when i load it on ps2 it takes ages to load up and is very slow( i read on your forum that tdk dvd+r are very good media) i thought this is some prob with game so i tried to backup street racing syndicate on tdk dvd+r and had the same problem(takes ages to load up) , i read your forum again and bought some maxell dvd-r this time. I tried to burn the iso of street racing syndicate onto maxell dvd-r and after 30 mins it still said 0% completed on dvd decrypter. And then it gave an error saying that media not supported.

I have checked my dvd burner hardware and it supports all dvd formats. I burn the dvd at 1x or 2x, can u tell me what is the problem?

Thankyou

Why dont you just stick with your Mitsubishi dvd's? Your trying to fix something that isnt broke. Just stick with what works

Right ok then thats different my friend. Those Mitsubishi's you had where manufactured by MCC (Mitsubishi Chemicals Corporation). A number of other brands outsource production to MCC. One particular high quality brand is Verbatim. So if you buy Verbatims, which carry the same MCC media code as the mitsubishis then you should be set. Media code is what matters in DVD's really not brand name because a lot of brands dont produce their own DVD's

Yes try Verbatim. Not sure about the Maxell thing. You could try updating your firmware for your DVD writer

Ive been backing up my games and using MAXELL DVD-R and DVD Decrypter and they load perfectly. And about a day ago I went to buy some TDK DVD-Rs and they are crap! They do load but they take to long to load. And the music skips.

Well like everyone always says: When backing up games stick to what works. mrlip is right in saying that u shouldnt try to fix wat isnt broke. Maxell r crappy , and Maxell DVD-R are inferior to Maxell DVD+R from my personal experience.
@unknownz-i think you should definitely get Verbatims ASAP. If the Mitsubishi DVDs worked fine for u the Verbs will work just as well, if not better. If possible try to return the Maxell DVDs
@serranoX3- i'm pretty sure ur one of the lucky people who got their Maxell DVDs to work without any problems. Keep up the good work. Maybe you got a bad batch of TDKs?How fast did u burn em?? I had a batch of fake Riteks once which skipped music and the whole game lol. Good luck with ur TDKs.

serroano Go read rules you cant say tdk is crap I know about 20 people who love that media. It depends on your burner.
dumass stop posting if you dont know anything. Read your burners manual most of them say what kinda media is recommended.
