I've recently bought a ps2(slim) and more recently some swap magic disks( cd + DVD ) in order to be able to burn and play games from the internet, but everytime i "burn" a game into a dvd disc , my playstation goes " Not a ps or ps2 disc format "!
I've used all tipe of software to burn the images and they all came out saying that! The disc surface did not came completly filled... is that a problem? if so, how do i fix it? what software should i use and what precise procedure should do to record the image? or is it my ps2? My discs are very good ( TDK+R ) and i keep wasting them... Thanks...
Hi Xanoco I didnt see in yr post that U have some way 2 defeat the sensors at the front & rear of the machine, like "SlimTool". U NEED some way of defeating those sensors before copies will run after booting on SwapMagic V3.3 or V3.6 earlier versions wont work in yr V12 slimline

I want to burn to dvd the images of the games i downloaded from the internet and for them to work on my ps 2!
I know i need an .iso file or a .bin file or a .cue file!
i´ve already used DVD Decrypter, alcohol 120º, discjuggler, Nero...
with all the special procedures a have to use ( mode 2, cd -xa, 4x ... )
the dvd disc's i used were TDK+R!
and still nothing!
The swap magic version is 3.6!
how do i define in these programs dvd-r ou dvd+r?
the recorded surface of the disc is not completely filled, like in the original games, is that a problem? if so, how do i correct it? is there an option that i'm not enabling in these programs?

Xanoco U have a V12 slimline PSTwo correct ? If so do u have installed SlimTool/Magic Switch (or some other sensor defeat method). Without 1 of these methods yr copied games will never work. This is a hardware fix that MUST accompany SwapMagic. Also to copy games off the net is illeagle, It is legal however, if u own the game that yr copying. Thats y u c people saying theyre getting copies of 1 of the games they own, Yeah right. Dont know whether Sony can afford it or not , but they r as good a target as any other I guess.

1 small white plastic plaque
( that i don´t know what it is... )
is that the slim tool, or the magic switch u talked about?

Xanoco No this is not the SlimTool (http://www.slimtool.com) type this in yr browser & all will be reveiled. The bottom line is!!
To run copies on ANY (PS2/PSTwo) U need 2 things !!!(when using SwapMagic)
(1) SwapMagic Disc (This is a software modchip)
(2) SlimTool (This so the playstation can have the drawer(PS2)/fliptop(PSTwo slim) open wothout the PS2/PSTwo knowing its open. The reason 4 this is so u can swap the disk.
If u use the blue eject button(PS2) or the eject button on the PSTwo slim, to swap the disk the PS2/PSTwo will re-set & give u the RSOD (red screen of death)
The proccess goes
(1) U boot yr PS2/PSTwo (with SwapMagic inside)
(2) SwapMagic boots & asks U to insert dics (Copy)
(3) U swap the SwapMagic disc 4 the copy & press X
(4)The game boots & all is well.
The problem is between steps (2) & (3) 2 b able 2 swap the discs U MUST repeat MUST have a SlimTool (PSTwo slim). Or some other method of defeating the sensors(i.e. telling the machine that the filptop is shut when it can be open or shut) This lets U open the fliptop(or just leave it open) so U can change the disc when directed 2 by SwapMagic, makeing the machine think that it is still the same game(i.e.SwapMagic) This is why the mod works at all

Xanoco the white plastic bit, is it round & approx 30mm, 1,1/2" ? If so it is a spare magnetic disc holding clamp from V1 - V11 & is of no use 2 U as U have a V12. U know when U click the disc on the spindle (V12 only). On the big type PS2 (V1 - V11) they have the drawer so cant have the same type of disc attaching method. As the drawer closes the laser raises. When at the top of its travel, the laser's magnetic spindle clamps tightly to the white plastic bit (it has a small piece of metal in it) & squishes the disc in the middle.
