CloneDVD 2 comprees too much with custom size

Using CloneDVD2 by Elby (ver 2.8.3.3) which I believe is the latest on the Slysoft site. When I selected custom size of 4300MB for the target CloneDVD2 compressed to ~3600MB causing significant loss in quality. When I used DVD Shrink and select 4300MB the size of the files is compressed to about 4300MB within a MB or so. Have sent an inquiry to CloneDVD2 support a short time ago. Will post any response here. I also plan to run some tests to see what size is generated for various custom size selections. BTW I do this selection to avoid burning to the very outer edge of the disk, find that this and burning at 2-2.4x eliminated skipping sometimes seen near the end of movies.

could be a problem with that version. Have you tried uninstalling and installing a previous version?

Have tried previous versions and also the latest (2.8.4.1) and still have the same problem. A movie (DVD 9 type) done with DVD Shrink set to 4360 results in a size of about 4.25 Gig. Using CloneDVD2 set to 4360 results in a size of about 3.57 Gig. Have submitted to vendor but so far have got no response. Seems like a this should be a relatively simple fix.

Apparently due to the differnt way CloneDVD2 interpets target size versus the way DVD Shrink does. See the link and responses from CD Freaks;
