I've read alot about the qaulity of the Epson R200/300 printers and how they print onto blank dvd media. I wanted to know who has actually used clear spray, be it Krylon or other brands on these discs and how it makes the disc react to fingerprints, water, etc? I was at BestBuy one day and put a drop of water on their sample disc (printed by the Epson R200) and it smeared. Will this happen after it's been sprayed with a clear acrylic coat? Is the print qaulity really as good as everyone says it is on these printers? I want store qaulity disc prints. I got a sample dvd from Primera (their Bravo II costs over $1000) and it smeared when touched with water. It also scraped off using my fingernail. Any help would be great!
Thanks!

I have the R200 printer, and I love it! I like the quality it produces. It uses six ink cartridges, because it's a Photo printer, and they give a better quality. I just ordered new ink for mine, and paid less for all six cartridges, than for one color cartridge, for my HP printer.
Do you have a lot of water around your dvds? Or around your printer? ANY printer's ink will smear if you drop water on it, but why would water be dropped on it?
I won't use the clear spray. It's adding extra thickness to the disc. If you get more spray on one side, the disc will be unbalanced, and asking for problems, as fast as they spin! May as well use paper labels. They won't smear...........
Good luck with whatever you decide.

I've been using the Epson R320 for a little over 6 months now. The quality of the print is pretty d*mn close to the original. I have never sprayed a disc with a clear spray. They still look good. Of course I haven't gotten any water on them but if I did I'm sure they would smear.
As for being able to scrap off with my fingernail haven't tried. I keep them in a DVD binder and lend them out so if something was going to happen to the print it would have probably happened. They always come back looking just as good.
