my ps2 is not loading the game....after turned on the power, and few seconds later, just stay at the screen(Browser/System config). I have tried many times reloading, and DVDs,CDs, dosen't work at all...just stacked there.....I just played last night...GEZZZZZ!!

my ps2(50007) added the modchip
any know what's wrong with it?

did you just install the modchip and it stopped working? It sounds like your laser is dead

I'm almost certain that your laser is dead. you could take the top of the dvd drive off to look.

you might not be getting enough power to your laser. open it up and check the ribbon

i have exactly the same problem. no DRE but just tries to load disk all the time. bought a replacement laser and fitted, but this made no difference. laser is moving freely so not worm screw problem either.

any other thoughts/ideas? please?

like i said, try changing the ribbon, or you could cal sony and have them do it for free.
just make sure that you take off all mods and make it look stock

hmmm. out of warranty AND modded. no chance there then...
so you think trying a new ribbon may fix things?

figure ot you version, go one bay and you can probably get it for 5 dollars.

even if it is out of warranty they fix it because all ps2s have the dre problem. tell them it is that.
then just remove the mod.

what mod is it?
you might be able to find it by typing this on google

how to remove (type of modchip) modchip from playstation 2?

or check the manufacturers site.
