I read on this formum where installing the Main Concept drivers was supposed to resolve this problem. It didn't resolve it for me and GSPOT reported that the codec was still missing even after install.

I downloaded this file and it fixed the problem:
http://www.v1home.com/updates/codecs/dvsd.exe

(Just FYI in case anyone else is having my same problem when trying to open AVI files created with Adobe Premiere Capture from a camcorder.)
