Now, I am the biggest noob at all this modding stuff, but I successfully softmodded my X-Box today, but wasn't able to go on Live.

I've played with some players that were able to mod the new maps on Halo 2, without using a chip, they told me they softmodded and stuff. I was wondering how it was possible for them to go on Live and hack like they did?

If anyone knows how to mod on Live any help would be appreciated, or any tutorials or links you could offer me would be great.
