Hi Rotary

Thanks for the reply. Basically all I want to do is burn an AVI file off my hard drive which is 1hr 48 mins in lenth onto a dvd disc so I can watch it on the tv. The dvd disc is single sided and has a capacity of 4,7gb but when I try to burn it using sonic recordnow! I get the message that the file is too big. There is nothing I can trim off the AVI I want to burn but the blank dvd cover shows me that if I burn in LP mode (long play) then it will have a capacity of 240 mins which is just fine, but I cannot find any option anywhere that lets me choose the recording time of the blank dvd.

Hi

No, I do want to convert the file but sonic will do that for me automatically but the file is 7oomb (1hr 48 mins) in size and when converted is way to big for a standard 4.7gb dvd disc hence the need to record it in LP mode.

once converted, you can re shrink th image to fit on a dvd, there wont be much in it,
so just convert it,giving a oversize file, then shrink it down slighty in dvd shrink
