Sony 48X CDR (Made In Malaysia). I just bought a 30-pack of these for 14.00 at Wal-Mart, and I'm wondering if these are good or not before I should open them. What factory is located in Malaysia, anyway? Thanks

It should be ok. Obviously Sony has offshore fabrics in Malaysia because of cheap labour force.

Used them before. Never had a problem. Bought at Walmart too.

The thing about these discs, is that, on the eye, they appear to be really high quality. When looking at the recording surface, the recording surface appears to be flawless, while other discs appear to have the reflective metal that's painted on the non-recording surface to be wrinkled and uneven, especially around the outer edges of the disc (I guess this is a result of the spinning of the disc to even out the paint)

The other thing about these discs, is that, when looking at the recording surface, I notice, after comparing it with other CD-Rs, that the recording surface ends sooner than other discs (Which I guess would prevent overburn), and as a result the Sony discs have a larger see-through border on the outside edges of the discs.

I've got no complaints so far. The discs work marvelously, and I've had nothing but good burns with the dozen or so that I have already burned.
