PowerDVD-5 video playback issues

I am using PowerDVD 5 and when I play a DVD (not burned/ripped or anything), the picture is distorted. It looks like the picture is "tearing" and "bleeding".
I have tried several DVDs and they all have this problem. This does not happen in an actual DVD player hooked up to the TV, so it's not the actual DVDs problem.
I even tried checking the "force bob/weave" options and it just makes the quality worse.

My system specs are able to run PowerDVD fine. My video card's drivers are up to date and I am running the current DirectX.

If I could get any help with this, it'd be much appreciated.
