Have been scouting around for a good and easy to cut out the commercials from a VCR->DVD venture. It's called MedioStream SceneComposer Razor. It can be downloaded for a 30day trial from http://www.mediostream.com/products/. It uses an MPEG2 file for an input and creates a modified MPEG2 file for it's output. Using a converter, it becomes simple to write out the DVD file or directly to DVD using the NeoDVDStandard program. The only fault I can see with the program is is the Video is displayed upside down dsuring the editing phase and am not getting much help out of their TechSupport to fix it. They say to send the video file (MPEG2) to them, and when they get it they say "works on our machine". The recommend removing all Video authorizing software on the machine as the program is probably using the wrong filters or codecs (as far as they're concerned its a Windows problem.)

Would be interesting is someone could download the trial and see if the Video is upside down on another machine. I'm using Win2K Pro with scads of memory. Tried it on an XP Pro machine, but on there, it won't even recognize an MPEG2 file.
