I know there have been many threads about PS2's not playing DVD backups correctly, but my problem is still occuring after reading many threads and following the advice of others. It plays CD backups just fine.

I recently bought swap magic 3.6 for my V7 PS2 and started making backups of some PS2 games. So far, not a single one works. I've used both Alcohol 120% and DVD Decrypter unsuccessfully. When looking at the threads, many people have said that media was the problem. I started off using generic DVD-R and DVD+R discs. I also used Maxell DVD-R's. None of them have worked. A few days ago, I bought the Fujifilm DVD+R's because people have said they are good discs. They performed even worse than the discs I intially used.

I also tried downloading an updated firmware for DVD Decrypter, which was DVD Region+CSS Free for my Emprex 4X DVD +/- RW. I installed it, and it had no effect on DVD Decrypter. I might not have set it up correctly. As a matter of fact, I don't even know what firmware does.

Another thing that people have been saying was to change the booktype of the disc before copying it using DVD Decrypter. I was unable to change it because the Current Setting always said "Unknown (FAILED!)"

If anyone could explain how to fix the problem that I have along with many others, your help would be greatly appreciated by everyone. Many people need this advice and we could use your help.
