Hi there,

those .RAR or .R00 are from a RAR Archive.
You will need to unarchive them using WINRAR.

Once it's unarchived, if it's a video file,it can be in many different format.

It can be a .BIN/.CUE file, or a SVCD or DivX (.AVI)

Once you know what's in there, then we can tell you what other software will be needed to convert them.

Once converted, you will be able to burn and watch on your DVD player.

Hopefully it's a video archive and not something else :)

Hello again,

With .bin/.cue files, you can either burn them to CD-R using Nero for example. Your DVD player should play VCD.

OR

I have Daemon Tools v3.47 installed.
It will create me a "Virtual Drive" which I can mount an image.
Mount (Virtualy burn) those .bin/.cue files and you will be able to see all the files with windows explorer for example from that virtual cdrom drive (X:, or Y: for example).

You talked about Virtual CloneDrive. Probably does the same right ? Mounts an image to a virtual CDROM drive ?

If you which to convert those .MPG files to DVD (.VOB) files, I like VSO DivXtoDVD to convert them. Load them 1 by 1, then convert.

VSO DivXtoDVD v0.5.2b (Last Free Version).

VSO DivXtoDVD will create you a VIDEO_TS dir with you can just burn to DVD with Nero to your favorite burning software.

There's a whole bunch of guides to read/fallow if you need more assitance.

Hi,

When you say VCD files, are they *.mpg ?

If yes, load them 1 by 1 in DivXtoDVD and let him convert them to DVD *.VOB files.

Hi, when i open the files by mounting them i see five folders. In two of them called CDI and SEGMENT, there is nothing. In MPEGAV there is a .DAT file called AVSEQ01. In a folder called VCD there are four VCD files called entries.vcd , lot.vcd , info.vcd , and psd.vcd. In a folder called EXT there two more VCD files called LOT_X.vcd and PSD_X.vcd. The same folders appear in both mounted files. Thats all i can tell you because its all i know, please help!

When you extract from bin/cue files you need to extract Extract but filter only M2F2 Mpg frames

If it says all files im pretty sure you can just save it as an mpg file, just dont forget the extension after the filename like, movie1.mpg

Another method would be to use VCDGear, select cue/bin -> mpeg as your extraction/conversion.

You will be asked now for a folder to save in so select one, and filename. Now you should see six tracks in the track list, u can just click the start button now to output.

good thing about this method - no need to mount any cd images.

Ok just want to check one thing with you, when i unarchive the files, only r00-r29 are classed as WinRAR archive files, the others are just R30, R31 etc. Also there is a SFV file, do i unarchive that aswell?

Hi there,

RAR archives usually have a .RAR
But is some cases, the 1st file will be .R00

It doesn't matter if .R31 and above are not linked to WinRAR.
Winrar will know what to do when it reaches there.

the .SFV file lists the CRC (or something else) value of each file.
Some problems like "Total Commander" can open those .SFV file, and compare the value in the file to the actual file.

This way you know the file is 100% untouched from when the archive was created.
