I bought my PS2 the first Christmas they were out, back when no one had them in stock. It has ten (10) screws on the bottom of the case and I'm guessing is a v.1 . After doing some research, I think I'm going to get a flip top case w/ Swap Magic 3.6. I currently have a bundle of Sony DVD-R. My burner is a Lite-On (I think) 16x DVD+/-R/RW. I also have a copy of DVD Decryptor. Does this look OK? I'm kinda worried about having problems with my PS2 being so old. It runs fine right now, I have never had a problem.

As long as it still reads games your should be fine. DVD Decrypter is great for backing up games. The DVD's may work, i have never used Sony but it varries from machine to machine as to which will work best.
And i am pretty sure you will need -R, i do not think the V1 through V4 can play =R discs at all.
The most that can go wrong is your laser gets old and wears out, it happens. Then you would have to spend $40 and get a new one and you would be good as new again.
