I couldn't find a forum for only a playstation I, so I'll post this here.

I sold an old playstation 1 and some games that I got from a friend. I was so happy that the buyer paid right away that I added one of my own personal games to the lot as a "thank you".

Well, the guy who won the auction has sent in a complaint to paypal/ebay, saying that I sold him a machine that has an added mod chip and that he can't play dora the explorer or spongebob squarepants. He wants me to refund his money, which I would, but i'm afraid that he won't return the merchandise and I'll be out of that plus the money.

I know that I didn't add a mod chip, but he is threatening to get the local police involved.

Does anyone have any advice for me?

Thank you,
Jenni

tell him to return it and you will refund his $if he wont tell him to go stick it up his a$$ . there is nothing he can do , local police , paypal , and ebay wont give a crap because he got his product , its not like you just ripped him off and never sent anything . sounds like he is trying to get somthing for nothing . modchips are not illegal so dont worry about that , if it had a chip installed the ps2 would have been worth more so wtf is he cryin about ? . did you get a tracking # on the package ?

He reported me to paypal and ebay. He's saying that the machine won't play newer games because all it does since it has the mod chip is show an error screen.

Everything in my lot worked, perfectly.

I told him that I would gladly refund his money after I get the complete shipment back and in the same condition that it was sent to him in.

He refused, saying that I mislead with my listing so he would like a $20 credit and that he would throw the console in the garbage or a refund and he would send it back.

In his complaint, he made it sound as if 1/2 of the games that I sent him didn't work, which is untrue too. They all worked because I tested them.

I'm so frustrated. This was supposed to be fun, not a headache.

As far as the tracking number goes, I DID get one. He didn't know it until he asked me why his package hadn't arrived yet. I gave him the number and told him that it was delivered that morning.

I really think he has tried to scam me twice now...

Can't he take the mod chip out, if there is one?
