Codec for Windows Movie Maker?

I'm trying to do some editing in Windows Movie Maker with an avi file that I created from a DVD (I ripped it, then used dvd2avi, then TMPGEnc to create the avi file). The avi file plays fine in Windows Media Player, but when I try to open it in Windows Movie Maker, it says that I am missing the appropriate codec.

What codec do I need and where can I get it?
