Greetings!
I've been using DVD Shrink to Re-Author and combine two movies on one disc.
Is there any way to create a *simple* menu that lets me select between both titles?
If there was just some text, "MOVIE A / MOVIE B" at startup, that'd be fine.
I don't need bells or whistles, I just hate struggling with my DVD remote to switch to the second feature. :)
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Unfortunately, there isn't much that'll give you just the two menu items, without giving you a ton of other options.
Advanced authoring apps are just like that.
You could try nerovision express, TMPGEnc dvd author, dvdlab, or there's a couple of free ones, GUIforDVDAuthor, and DVDAuthorGUI.

I have experience with TMPGEnc dvd author, but only in the sense that I converted some .avi's to .mpg and burnt them to disc.
How would I go about using TMPGEnc DVD Author on a Video_TS folder? AFAIK, the main movie is split into all these .vobs and stuff. Is there a tutorial that can help me "fish out" the main movie and add that as an TMPGEnc video track?

When you open TMPGEnc dvd author, browse to import your files, open the VIDEO_TS folder and TDA should automatically find the movie.
TDA will then join and import the whole thing.
Do this for each of the movies you want on the dvd, then make a simple menu, and compile it.

well, I know a way to to re-author dvd movies with menu..but it takes about 2 hours to complete the process...
first...use dvdshrink to shrink 2 movies
and then use TMPGEnc dvd author to reauthor agai...I think the whole process take about 2 hours if your pc runs fast....

Huh. And the new menus don't make you have to Shrink the movies again?
Is there a way for TMPGENc DVD Author to detect the chapter breaks in a source film, or would you have to go in and add them manually?

well, tmpg will add the chapter automatically, just select dvd and open the chapter, let it load and add another one and so on....but make sure you shrink your 2 movies is = 4.4gig before using tmpgenc dvd author...
I tried and it works fine...That's why the whole process takes two hours to complete...but I think that the waste of time....
we have to re-author twice if you want to put 2 movies on 1 dvd with a menu...

hi
just to clarify here! TMPGEnc plus and TMPGEnc dvd author are 2 differnet apps!
first can make AVI to mpeg2 second cant!
you can load 2 lots of dvd files to dvd author and make a menu, but may need to use DVD Shrink to make dvdr5 size!
Nothing here to see, move along folks.

ok....let say you have 2 dvds movie . the first movie is on hardrive and the second movie is on dvd rom....
open DVD Shrink click on re-author mode then add the first movie on the left side , it will rename as title 1, then click on your dvd-rom which is the second movie, then add movie to re-author mode also..the second movie should now become title 2 ...final step, click on backup mode and wait till the dvdshrink to finish the job....
Once your dvdshrink complete, open tmpg dvd author ..then create menu and it will re-author once more time....
this is how you get two movies on the same disc with menu....The whole process should complete in 2 or 3 hours....
good luck

DvdReMake Pro v3 can merge up to 4 disks, non Pro only two.
