Hi,

Im sort or new to this whole video editing area, but i have a fair idea of whats going on, but i cant solve this problem. I recently bought a Winfast 2000xp tv card so i would be able to capture video. Everything works the way it should except for the sound. When i go to playback what i have captured there video footage on playback, but no sound. I have checked the cabels that go from my tv card to the motherboard(which is where my sound card it) The only thing which has got me confused is that there are three connections on the motherboard to where this sound cable can pulg into. There is a black, white and yellow. I've pluged it onto the black because the cabel is black. Though i have tried them all out and none seem to work. I have gone to device manager and the devices are all working fine. I have re-installed the drives and still the sound does not work.
Is there anyone that might be able to help me with this problem?

Open the audio properties (right click the speaker in the tray beside the clock, select open volume control), and make sure you have "line-in" NOT muted, and the volume slider all the way to the top.
In your capture software, select LINE IN as the audio source.

The Audio properties for "Line In" was not muted, and the audio propteries on my capture software is already set to "line in" as well.

Make sure you have the patch cable plugged all the way in, and into the right plugs. Read the manual for your motherboard, it will tell you which one is line in.
Right click the speaker again, this time select adjust audio properties, Audio tab. Make sure the recording device is really what you actually have (and have installed the drivers for) for your audio card/chip. Usually, onboard audio is AC97 or Realtek.
Try reinstalling the drivers for your card, turn off the anti-virus program, and restart the computer when finished (even if it doesn't prompt you).
It's also possible you have a bad connection, a bad cable, or a bad card, but to find out, you'll have to install it into a different computer.
